The Anti-Fragile Pilot
The Anti-Fragile Playbook is being put into practice in Austin's Tannehill Creek Watershed. Our community marketplace is launched, our local administrators are being trained, and we're inviting neighbors, makers, and entrepreneurs to help shape what comes next.
The Tannehill Creek Watershed pilot is a practical experiment in grassroots economic revival: hyper-local, community-centered, and designed to become increasingly self-funding and self-governing.
The starting proposition
Start with the makers and doers.
The original invitation was directed to makers, creators, producers, builders, entrepreneurs, and people operating small businesses or side hustles in north-central-east Austin, in and around the Tannehill Creek Watershed.
Rather than waiting for a large outside employer or development project to deliver prosperity, the pilot helps residents turn existing skills, relationships, products, and services into more dependable sources of local income.
The Tannehill app

APP LAUNCHED · 2026In 2026, the Tannehill community app launched, providing digital infrastructure for the neighborhood marketplace and community coordination.
Built upon technology provided by 214 Alpha, the platform is intended to help residents participate in their own local economy while supporting community administration and stewardship.

The broader ambitions

The pilot explores several mutually reinforcing benefits, including:

We're actively recruiting residents, makers, entrepreneurs, service providers, and community participants who want to help strengthen their local economy.
The model continues to evolve as participants and administrators gain practical experience. The broader community services described above remain aspirations to be developed through that work.
